Retirement of AIA Alerts mailing list on March 31

When the America Invents Act (AIA) was enacted in 2011, we created this mailing list to share the latest news and information regarding the agency’s implementation of the new law. Ten years later, the law’s impact can be seen across the agency.

With the AIA now reflected in so many elements of business at the USPTO, we are retiring this AIA-specific mailing list on March 31. We will continue to provide updates regarding the USPTO’s activities through other topic-specific lists, such as the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) Alerts and Patent Alerts lists. If you do not already receive updates from those lists, we will migrate your information to those lists on March 31 so that you continue to receive updates from us. No action is needed on your part.

The AIA spurred many changes, including the creation of the PTAB; the launch of our regional offices in Denver, Detroit, Dallas, and Silicon Valley; and the unveiling of our Patent Pro Bono Program, all of which have become established and integral parts of the USPTO.

As we retire the AIA mailing list, we encourage you to review your USPTO mailing list subscriptions to ensure you are signed up to receive updates from us on topics of interest to you.
