South Staffordshire Council is a district council, working alongside Staffordshire County Council and local parish councils as part of a three-tier local government system.

South Staffordshire District Council  

Staffordshire is divided into eight districts - we serve South Staffordshire. 

South Staffordshire Council provides services for the cost in council tax of £2.51* a week (average Band D). This makes us the fifth lowest district council tax in England. *This amount is for year 2022/23.

Staffordshire County Council

The county council covers the whole of Staffordshire and provides services such as: 

  • Adult social care 
  • Blue badges (new and renewal) 
  • Bus passes 
  • Children services 
  • Education 
  • Footpaths 
  • Highways maintenance (including potholes), 
  • Road closures and diversions 
  • Recycling centres (tips) and much more.
