About this event

Please join the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse on November 17 at 3:00 PM EST for an informational webinar on protecting against and preventing potential bomb attacks and threats in kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) schools.

The session – held in coordination with Infrastructure Security Month - will feature guest speakers from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Office for Bombing Prevention. They will provide an overview of the threats schools face when it comes to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), strategies and actions teachers, parents, and school personnel can implement to prevent and address these threats, and trainings, programs, and resources available to support school communities in these efforts. The presentation will cover indicators of bomb-making activities (purchasing certain items, social media activity, etc.) and how school personnel and parents can respond appropriately, as well as the actions schools should take if they receive a bomb threat.

The discussion will feature additional school safety-related resources on physical security and targeted violence, as well as a Q&A session for participants to engage directly with our speakers.
