CITY ANNOUNCES OVERNIGHT FILMING FRIDAY IN

WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced the feature film “Renfield” will be filming overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, April 8 into Saturday, April 9 in the Warehouse District.

To accommodate the filming, parking will be restricted with signs posted on the 200 block of Julia Street, 700-800 Blocks of Fulton Street and the 700-800 blocks of St. Peter Street. Crew parking will be located off-site.

The filming will include sequences of simulated gunfire in the interior of 201 Julia Street. The actors will be using prop machine guns and blanks (not bullets) and the production team will ensure that all film industry union safety procedures are followed. In addition, filming will be conducted under the supervision of the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At all times during filming, Intermittent Traffic Control will be in effect. This allows law enforcement to hold traffic for three to four minutes at a time, at which point they are required to allow traffic through.

The filming has been approved and permitted by the New Orleans Film Office. Residents with questions or concerns can call Film Office staff members Sheila Melan O’Neill at (504)-453-3654 or Isabella Renner at (504)-295-7734.
