How to Create a Trap Tree to Monitor for Emerald Ash Borer Workshop – Greenwood

Join Maine Forest Service Entomologist Colleen Teerling and District Forester Mike Richard to learn how you can participate in the early detection of emerald ash borer infestations in Western Maine. Participants will learn about emerald ash borer's lifecycle and how to create a "trap tree" on their property that can aid in detecting infestations within the region.

2022 Water Protection Workshops – Fort Kent & Passadumkeag

Join Master Logger for an outside, interactive workshop that will cover protecting water resources through BMP's, harvest planning, and oil/diesel spill best practices. There will also be a bonus session on fighting forest fires for loggers.

This workshop will focus on:

  • Stream crossings
  • Harvesting near water
  • Oil spill practices
  • Fire fighting for loggers

The workshop will include a short morning session from each presenter and then a field session with each presenter having a training station.

Loggers, foresters, forest landowners, as well as municipal officials are encouraged to attend!

Continuing Education Credits available through:

  • Master Logger - 8 Hrs
  • Society of American Foresters

Each logger will enter their name and company name to win a wooden skidder bridge! The more employees you bring, the better the chances. Spill kits will be given away. Each attendee will receive a Maine BMP Manual.
