Grand Teton National Park Boating Pass

Grand Teton National Park

Boating on Grand Teton park waters is a popular activity, whether floating the Snake River, paddling scenic lakes, or using recreational power boats on Jackson Lake. All vessels launched in Grand Teton park waters must have a Grand Teton boat sticker, or digital proof of purchase until sticker arrives in the US Mail. Vessels must be inspected for invasive species before launch, and you must purchase a Wyoming State Aquatic Invasive Species decal from the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish.

For information about the drawdown of Jackson Lake, please visit the park's Modified Operations at Marinas on Jackson Lake web page .

All non-motorized and motorized boats must have a boat pass sticker affixed to the left rear (port stern) of the vessel. For rafts and other inflatable boats, pass stickers may be wrapped around O rings or affixed on other hard surfaces of the boat where it may be more likely to stick.

In the order details, for the Mailing Address enter your US Postal Service Address (i.e., PO Box not your physical address) for the boat sticker to be mailed to you.

Until the boat sticker arrives in the US Mail, the digital pass, which is e-mailed to you after completing your purchase online, can be used as proof of purchase. It is recommended that you print a hard copy of the pass and have this with you on your boat, as cell reception in the park can be spotty.

All boaters are responsible for knowing the Boat Regulations and Safety Information for the park, which are found at the park's boat information page https://www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/boat.htm

All persons floating the Snake River are responsible for choosing a section of the river to float which is reasonable for their ability level. You'll find information about the difficulty of each section of the river in the park's floating the river brochure, found on this page: https://www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/boat.htm Updated river condition reports are posted at boat launch sites.
