4th of July Celebration
Bring your family out to enjoy fun and games on July 4th at Hunter Park from 11 AM - 3 PM. Concessions will be available for purchase. Fireworks can be viewed at Arbor Place Mall and surrounding areas at dusk.

All Sports Juniors Camp
Registration closes June 17
This camp will introduce traditional and non-traditional sports to youth ages 5-8. We will be able to incorporate how other sports and skills can be beneficial to another sport they may like. Non-traditional sports will also be taught such as Pickleball, Badminton, & Ultimate Frisbee. Registration is open now through June 17.

Fall Youth Baseball
Registration opens June 20
We're excited to welcome players ages 3-14 to join us for the fall season of coed Youth Baseball at Hunter Park.
Ages 3-4 player fee is $65 and ages 5-14 player fee is $90 (hat and jersey included for both age groups). Players age 3-4 will not have evaluations. Scholarships may be requested by July 29 HERE.

Youth Basketball Camp
Registration deadline is July 15
This camp will introduce the fundamentals of the sport of basketball. Participants will learn various skillsets, communication, and teamwork through different drills and activities. Most of all the participants will get to have fun in a social and competitive setting through the sport of basketball.

Junior Golf Camp
West Pines Golf Club conducts a Junior Golf Camp for youth age 7-15. Participants will learn the rules of golf as well as course etiquette, along with putting, chipping and swinging fundamentals. To register, call 678-391-1600.

Camp Terrific
This is a specialty camp designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities happening July 18 - July 22. Participants will be provided a week of therapeutic recreational activities to include nature walks, cycling, fishing, arts and performances and social skills. Tiny Dancers Summer Camp
Join Stay On Pointe Academy for a one week class inclusive of basic ballet techniques and terminology for ages 5-10. Students will develop rhythm, flexibility, coordination and confidence. Register by June 20 HERE.

Bodacious
Bodacious classes are back at the Ike Owings Community Center from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM on Saturdays. These classes encourage self-love, confidence, and growth through self-expression. Register HERE.

Screen on the Green: June 3
We have a gift just as special as you. Come out for a free showing of Encanto hosted by Douglasville Parks and Recreation at Fowler Field Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to view the movie on the field. Grab your spot as early as 7:00 PM. Be sure to stop by the concession stand and grab food and snacks for the show!

Family Health and Fitness Day: June 11
Celebrated the second Saturday in June each year, this special day promotes the importance of parks and recreation in keeping communities healthy and active. Come out for a fun fitness class which will benefit the entire family on Saturday, June 11 from 10 AM - 12 N at Worthan Park. We will have giveaways and healthy treats for the family to enjoy.

Are you looking for a workout to help lower stress, boost your immune system and help with chronic pain? Join us for Pound Fitness, a high-intensity workout that gets your body and brain working together!

2022 Georgia Games Fishing Derby: June 25
Cast your line and see what you can catch at Hunter Park's lake during our annual Fishing Derby.
Awards are given for the most weighted fish in each age group. Age groups: 0-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17, and adults 18+.
Don't forget to bring your own bait, tackle, and fishing rods. Raffle for various prizes throughout the event. This event is free but registration is required for those competing. Registration opens April 25 and all who sign up by June 10 will receive a complimentary event t-shirt. Register HERE.

Teens + TR Unified Kickball Tournament: July 1

Join us as we kick off our therapeutic recreation programs for individuals with disabilities. All are welcome to join us for a fun day of Kickball, music, and family friendly activities on July 1 from 11 AM - 1 PM.
This sign up is for individuals with disabilities. The teens will sign up via the Teen Summit program.
