intercepts human smuggling attempt
Tractor-trailer approached the primary inspection lanes.

LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Interstate 35 checkpoint intercepted a human smuggling attempt involving a tractor-trailer.

The incident occurred on the evening of Dec. 6, when a tractor-trailer approached the primary inspection lanes.  During an immigration inspection of the driver, a Service canine alerted to the conveyance, prompting agents to refer the driver to secondary inspection.  A search of the trailer revealed over 20 individuals from the countries of Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala hiding inside.  All subjects were taken into custody for further investigation.
