On March 18, CBP officers encountered a passenger vehicle occupied by three U.S. citizens. The driver indicated to CBP officers that he made a wrong turn and did not possess any identification. The vehicle and all occupants were subsequently directed to a secondary inspection to verify identification and citizenship. During the secondary inspection it was discovered that one passenger, Julius K. Alls, a 49-year-old passenger had active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) felony warrants from Fairfax County Police Department, Virginia for burglary, grand larceny, possession of stolen property and burglars tools.

“This incident highlights the continued work that CBP does alongside our many law enforcement partners, playing a vital role in maintaining the safety of our communities,” said Acting Port Director John Madsen.

After processing and confirming the felony warrants, the U.S. citizen was turned over to the Buffalo Police Department and is currently in the custody of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition to Virginia.
