Secretary of State's Office wants Montana voters to be Vote Ready ahead of November General Election
HELENA, Mont. — Montana's midterm General Election is three weeks away, and state and local election officials are continuing to provide education and outreach to Montana voters.
The Voter Information Pamphlet sent to the mailboxes of voters from mid-September through mid-October was in production prior to the judicial order enjoining Montana’s identification and registration laws. The Secretary of State wants Montana voters to be Vote Ready this November.
Please broadcast the following information to Montana voters for the 2022 November General Election:
Registration:
Registration will be available on Election Day (Tuesday, November 8) through 8 p.m.
Identification at polling place:
Before an elector is permitted to receive a ballot or vote, the elector shall present to an election judge a current photo identification showing the elector's name. If the elector does not present photo identification, including but not limited to a valid driver's license, a school district or postsecondary education photo identification, or a tribal photo identification, the elector shall present a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, notice of confirmation of voter registration issued pursuant to 13-2-207, government check, or other government document that shows the elector's name and current address.
Absentee ballots:
Absentee ballots were mailed to registered absentee voters on Friday, October 14 and must be received in the county election office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day.
