Be prepared for high winds and potential power outages

A high wind warning is in effect today, Tuesday, Dec. 27, from approximately 1 p.m. until 1 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, with a risk of power outages in King County.

Annual Cybersecurity Training deadline Dec. 31

Cybersecurity Training is an important safeguard that protects King County systems, and the number of employees who complete training each year impacts our insurance rates.

When your training is assigned, you will receive an email from kc-knowbe4@kingcounty.gov with a direct link to your required training modules. If you can’t find the email, check your Junk folder or login with your work email here.

All employees must complete annual Cybersecurity Training by Dec. 31, 2022 unless your agency has specified a different deadline. Thank you for doing your part to protect King County. Read more.


UPDATE: Regence contract approved with The Polyclinic and Everett Clinic

The contract between Regence and Optum, the parent company of Everett Clinic and The Polyclinic, is approved effective immediately. If you are enrolled in the Regence KingCare PPO, there will be no disruption to your coverage.

If you have questions, please call Regence BlueShield at 800-376-7926 from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time, Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. You can also contact the King County Benefits team at 206-684-1556 or email KC Benefits.

County offices closed Monday, Jan. 2

King County government offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 2 for the New Year's Day observed holiday, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Watch the inaugural edition of Equity Express: The Pet Food Bank at Regional Animal Services

Training Spotlight:

Brain-based Time Management – Online – This hands-on, 3.5 hour class will show how to support your brain to be more efficient with time, more effective in planning, and experience less stress and feeling overwhelmed. The fee is $50.

STAR-LA Interview Practice and Feedback – Online – This one hour small group workshop is designed to provide mock interview practice and feedback using the STAR-LA method as taught by King County Career Support Services. This workshop is for participants who have attended the Career Support Services led Strategic Interviewing Tips and Techniques online workshop or have watched the 10-minute STAR-LA method video found on the Career Support Services website at www.kingcounty.gov/CSS.
