Construction Impacts at Columbia Pike & S Joyce St

Starting the week of January 23, Columbia Pike between South Oak Street and South Joyce Street will close to accommodate construction on the federal project to expand the Arlington National Cemetery. 

Traffic Impacts

  • All traffic will detour through the new South Nash Street and Southgate Road
  • The Air Force Memorial bus stop will close, and a temporary stop will open on South Nash Street
  • A pedestrian/bike connector is available on Southgate Road and South Joyce Street

VDOT to Close I-395 Exit 10A on January 24

Beginning at 10:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24, weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-395 to westbound Boundary Channel Drive (Exit 10A) will be closed for several months as part of the Boundary Channel Drive at I-395 Interchange Improvements project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

 

All traffic will detour to the Clark Street exit (Exit 9) and turn left or right onto Boundary Channel Drive.

About the Project

The Boundary Channel Drive Interchange Project will simplify traffic patterns between I-395, Boundary Channel Drive and Long Bridge Drive to make travel safer for all users. The improvements will include a connection to Long Bridge Park Drive and a bicycle connection from the Humpback Bridge to Long Bridge Park. Learn more on the County's project page.
