Most people in Plymouth are now aware that contractors moved onto the Armada Way site to prepare for the regeneration project earlier this week.
On the night that the removal of trees began we issued a statement, with a further update the following day setting out what had happened overnight.
The plan had been to remove the felled trees and shave off and make safe any stumps along the main pedestrian routes once all the trees had come down, before the start of the working day.
The injunction meant we had to stop work.
The contractors installed more fencing to ensure the felled wood is out of bounds.
We are currently unable to tidy the site further or remove the felled trees until the outcome of the court hearing, which will take place next Friday.
We are seeking to have the interim injunction discharged but are unable to make any further comments about this project until after the hearing.

Lord Mayor Councillor Sue Dann bravely abseiled down the 70-foot-high Citadel wall this week to launch this year’s Armed Forces Day.
An exciting line-up of interactive displays, demonstrations, parades and entertainment was revealed at the launch, hosted by 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery.
The Commanding Officer presented Councillor Dann with the Armed Forces Day flag, which was then passed to 47 Commando (Raiding Group) Royal Marines and flown from their Offshore Raiding Craft in a thrilling on-water display.
Over 40,000 people are expected to flock to the Hoe on Saturday 24 June to enjoy the fun family event and show their support for the armed forces community. The day will include live music and an iconic aircraft flyover of Plymouth Sound.

The next round of changes to modernise and simplify parking arrangements in Plymouth will start to be implemented from Saturday 1 April.
Part of a package of measures to address our unprecedented budget gap, the changes also aim to bring Plymouth’s parking charges in line with those in other UK cities and make our tariffs and permit schemes more consistent, while offering motorists a greater choice of parking and payment options.
From 1 April we will be increasing charges by the rate of inflation, to help address the rise in operating costs of over £600,000 since 2018/19.
Then, over a phased period, we will be:
- introducing new motorcycle charges in all pay and display bays within car parks (when machines offering ticketless parking are installed and live)
- removing cash payments from machines and upgrading all on-street systems to accept payments by phone (via Apple and Android Pay for example), credit and debit cards and mobile apps
- increasing the cost of annual visitor permits so they are always charged the same rate as annual residents’ permits.
Signage on payment machines and in car parks will be updated (as will our website) to reflect the changes when they are live.

If you are thinking of holding a street party to celebrate the King’s Coronation in May you must apply for a road closure by Monday (20 March).
To make the process easier we are waiving the usual fees for road closures over that bank holiday weekend. We are also waiving the fees for holding a community event in a Plymouth park.
Residents will also be able to celebrate by joining a free public screening of the Coronation, taking part in Big Help Out volunteering activities and attending a special service at St Andrew’s.

We’re just days away from the launch of a new citywide initiative that will see 525 electric bikes for hire at over 90 locations, 300 electric vehicle chargers in 50 locations and an electric car club.
Connect Plymouth, supported through the Transforming Cities Fund, is all about paving the way for greener, more sustainable travel.
We’re holding a launch event in the city centre on Tuesday 21 March, where you can find out more about our plans for a network of electric vehicle charge points, get a free guided ride or have a look inside one of the electric car club vehicles.
Drop in at the piazza any time from 9am to 5pm.

This artist’s impression shows how a new adult social care facility in Plymouth could look.
Located on the site of a disused depot at the edge of Central Park, the new building will support adults with a wide range of disabilities and complex needs by offering a combined day and respite service in one central location.
The facility will be modern and accessible with spaces for different activities, such as sensory rooms, art rooms and gardens, as well as offering easy access to the park.
Once built, the centre will replace the current daytime support at The Vine in Whitleigh and the respite offered by Colwill Lodge in Estover.

Graduates and those looking for a career change are asked if they could ‘Step Up to Social Work’ and join our Children’s Services team to help make a difference to families in Plymouth.
Step Up to Social Work is a 14-month, highly-rewarding training programme, designed for people who want to become a social worker but do not have a degree in social work.
Successful applicants train through a combination of academic study and hands-on social work experience, receiving support with training costs and a bursary of £19,833.
Applications close on Friday 24 March.
