Sarasota, FL (Nov. 29, 2023): The public is invited to join the festivities as the City of Sarasota’s Parks and Recreation Department hosts five winter-themed events in December that will be a holly jolly time for the whole family.

Payne Park Tennis Center, 2050 Adams Lane:

Santa SLAM!

  • Thursday, Dec. 14: Noon – 4 p.m.
  • Play “Round Robin Reindeer Games”: Co-ed doubles with a rotating partner. Includes a warmup clinic with the Payne Park tennis pros and six 20-minute matches - plus gifts, candy canes and a special appearance by Santa and his elves.
  • $10 for passholders, $20 for non-passholders

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex, 2650 Waldemere St.:

Make Your Own Holiday Dessert Charcuterie Boards

  • Friday, Dec. 15: 5:30 – 7 p.m.
  • Enjoy an evening of dipping and decorating desserts. Indulge in a chocolate fountain, hot cocoa mix-making station, cookies, sprinkles and more.
  • $10 per board
  • Space is limited – deadline to register is Dec. 13 at www.LetsPlaySarasota.com

Breakfast with the Grinch!

  • Thursday, Dec. 21: 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.
  • Enjoy breakfast with the mean green one himself. Pose for a photo with the Grinch and create a Grinch-inspired ornament or winter picture frame to take home.
  • $6 per person -- includes two pancakes, sausage, fruit and a juice box

Robert L. Taylor Community Complex Annual Holiday Party – In partnership with Amaryllis Park Neighborhood Association

  • Partake in delicious food, great company, a visit from Santa and a special surprise for the kids.

K.O.P.S. (Kids & Officers Promoting Solidarity) Winter Night Out!

  • Wednesday, Dec. 20: 6 – 10 p.m.
    • 6 – 8 p.m.: 8 – 11-year-olds
    • 8 – 10 p.m.: 12 - 15-year-olds
  • K.O.P.S. is a unique program created in partnership with the Sarasota Police Department to promote positive relationships between local youth and law enforcement. A variety of activities will be available, including basketball, volleyball, soccer/kickball, billiards and video games. Dinner, refreshments and safe supervision will be provided.
  • Free
