INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation today announced it will hold a public hearing about Modern Rockville, the long-needed road widening project in western Marion County. The project team will use this opportunity to provide updates.
WHEN: The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 6. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the presentation to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will conclude at 7 p.m. (Should the hearing need to be rescheduled that would occur at the same location on Tuesday, July 18.)
WHERE: The hearing will be held at Wayne Township Emergency Services Grand Hall at Westlake Gardens, 400 N. High School Road, Indianapolis. Parking on site is available.
WHAT: The hearing will feature maps and exhibits along with an overview from project engineers and representatives about the preferred alternative design of U.S. 36/Rockville Road between Raceway Road and I-465 and the Draft Categorical Exclusion (CE) for the roadway and bridge improvements.
WHY: The purpose of the 3-mile-long project is to add lanes in each direction, increasing safety and improving traffic flow throughout the corridor, while replacing deteriorated infrastructure and meeting Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
