Big Ideas Book Discussion: The Art of Talking with Children

Friday, November 17, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Join Northwest District Consultant Bonnie McKeweon and Janeé to discuss “The Art of Talking With Children: Simple Keys to Nurturing Kindness, Creativity, and Confidence in Kids” by Rebecca Rolland.

From the book: “[This book] arms adults with practical tools to help them have productive and meaningful conversations with children of all ages—whether it’s engaging an obstinate toddler or getting the most monosyllabic adolescent to open up…it shows us how quality communication—or rich talk—can help us build the skills and capacities children need to thrive.”

We’ll discuss the ideas presented, and see how they apply to how all staff can better serve the library’s youngest patrons and their caregivers!
