Get your dance on at Augsburg Park!
If you’ve been to the Friday and Saturday Fun sessions at the Augsburg Adventure Park (7000 Nicollet Ave), you know the festive atmosphere that forms when people gather for the puppet shows, story hours and visits from Police and Fire. The fun will continue on into September and October, but not without a proper farewell to summer. Join us tomorrow, August 25, at 10 a.m. for an End of Summer Dance Party with DJ Howie. The event is free. Drop by and dance your way into fall. The Augsburg Adventure Park is fully accessible.
Unity in the Community a great success

Beautiful weather and an amazing crowd made last week's Unity in the Community a huge success. Approximately 2,000 people attended the event, with more than 900 backpacks distributed to kids preparing for school. Additional supplies will be donated to local children getting ready for their school year.
Thirty-eight organizations participated in the resource fair, providing important information about law enforcement, legal aid, health, education, financial literacy, Public Safety and more. Free vision screenings were also available.
On stage, the crowd was entertained by DJ Angel, poetry and storytelling, and dancers from the Lao and Colombian communities.
Thank you to all the staff, volunteers and community members who helped make the evening so amazing. See you next year!

Donaldson Park Building project
Our recreation department is planning to replace the east park building at Donaldson Park. This process provides the opportunity to assess the needs for the space and potentially change the mix of amenities provided. The new building is tentatively planned for the same location as the current building at lower Donaldson (the play equipment will be replaced next year and positioned south and east of the current building).
We need your input! Two engagement opportunities are coming up!
- Open House: Join us at Donaldson Park on Monday, August 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. to discuss the project with staff
- Survey: If you are unable to attend the open house, please take some time to fill out the online comment card which will be open through September 10.

The 65th Street Project is well underway! Over the next three weeks the City will begin installing utilities and reconstructing the railroad crossing at 65th Street and Pleasant Avenue. In addition to putting in new sanitary sewer and storm sewer infrastructure, the railroad ties and the pavement for the crossing will also be reconstructed.
In the next month the city will be installing a soil-retention system along 65th Street just east of Lyndale. This system will allow the City to safely install a new sanitary main and the new stormwater box culvert.
Trail paving will begin on August 31 between Rae Drive and Lyndale Avenue. Residents are reminded to please use the designated detour route and to avoid walking through the construction site east of Woodlake Drive.
Neighbors can join staff for the next bi-weekly neighborhood meeting tonight at 4 p.m. Staff will be by the northern driveway of Pizza Luce to talk with residents about the project.

In case you missed it....
This past Sunday, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) recognized more than 60 officers, troopers, deputies, and prosecutors for their efforts to get impaired drivers off the road. They represented the DWI Enforcer All-Star team and were honored during Minnesota Twins pre-game activities at Target Field. Together, the All-Stars made 4,447 DWI arrests across Minnesota, contributing to the nearly 26,000 DWI arrests made by all of law enforcement in 2022.
Richfield PD had two officers make this year's All-Star team: Officers Macabe Stariha (131 DWI arrests) and Kevin Ballenger (41 DWI arrests)!
