 Elizabeth River - Norfolk Southern #7 Bridge -

Emergency Closure (update #2) 

 

Normal Bridge operations have resumed.


Mariners are advised that the Norfolk Southern #7 Bridge over the Elizabeth River, mile marker 5.8, in Chesapeake, VA, experienced an electrical malfunction on November 26th, 2023. While bridge repairs are still ongoing, normal operations have resumed according to Norfolk Southern.

For the current status of NS bridge operation, the tender who normally operates the bridge remotely from NS #5 may be contacted at (757) 446–5320. (as found in 33 CFR 117).
