What. A. SUMMER. In case you missed it, a couple of weeks ago, I hit the road with my team at Energy to see how President Biden’s historic clean energy investments are creating a booming battery belt throughout the South.
|
I visited manufacturing facilities, met with unions and community leaders, talked equity and workforce development, announced huge news in clean energy job creation, visited with homeowners who’ve weatherized and upgraded their homes — and I did it all from an electric vehicle.
A few things I want to make sure everyone knows:
-
Last week we released our 2023 U.S. Energy and Employment Report, which showed that clean energy jobs grew in EVERY STATE in 2022 — including battery EV jobs, which increased by 27%.
-
If you’re considering purchasing a new or used vehicle this summer, make sure you’re factoring in the EV tax credits available to you through President Biden’s Investing in America agenda. We have all the details over at www.energy.gov/save, but the toplines are you could be eligible for a $7,500 tax credit on a new EV or a $4,000 tax credit on a used EV. Real money, folks.
-
We’ve just released a new slew of maps showing the clean energy investments that have been announced since President Biden took office — including a BRAND NEW map highlighting EV manufacturing. Check it out >>
- If you haven’t seen it yet, we have a new Clean Energy 101 video on — you guessed it — EVs 🚗. Take a minute to watch now:
To everyone who came out last week in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee — 🙏 thank you. Seeing how you are leading the clean energy revolution and building the southern Battery Belt was downright inspiring. Our energy future is bright and it will be American made.
