The Fogarty International Center and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) present the David E. Barmes Global Health Lecture 2024: Global HIV/AIDS Response: Then, Now, Future

Speaker: Ambassador Dr. John Nkengasong, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Senior Bureau Official for Global Health Security and Diplomacy, overseeing the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024,  at 1:00 p.m. ET (USA)

Logistics

  • NIH Campus Access and Security: All visitors must enter through the NIH Gateway Center. You will be asked to submit to a vehicle or personal inspection. Visitors will be required to show one (1) form of identification (a government-issued photo ID-driver's license, passport, green card, etc.) and to state the purpose of their visit.
  • Getting to NIH: NIH Gateway Center is located next to the Medical Center Metro Station at the South Drive entrance to the NIH campus from Rockville Pike / Wisconsin Avenue (Route 355). It combines visitor parking and visitor ID processing. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation such as the Metrorail subway system which has a convenient stop (Medical Center) on the NIH campus.
  • Parking at NIH: Visitor parking is limited at NIH.  Visitors should park in garage MLP-11 (marked NIH Visitor's Entrance) and proceed to the Gateway Center to get a visitor badge and either walk or take a shuttle bus to their destination.
