Power of a Job: The Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) division is looking for two (2) System Administrators – Journey to support the Paid Leave and Long Term Services and Support (LTSS) Divisions. Your advanced level expertise will be utilized for a large, complex, technology implementation of a new line of business, along with policy and formal rule development. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of system changes and management activities, identify plans, and execute tasks related to the PFML and LTSS information systems. You will directly contribute to our mission by providing advanced technical knowledge, consultation, problem analysis, resolution, and the application of your technical proficiencies for an easily accessible benefit that helps employers and employees maintain economic stability and peace of mind in challenging times.

Duties

As the System Administrator, you will be responsible for application maintenance and performance optimization so that PFML and LTSS employees and employers can access the applications without disruption. You will analyze, apply and implement technical remedies to reported application incidents, problems and other requests, and provide configuration and maintenance processes to ensure consistency across multiple system environments. Your ability to learn new technologies, participate in agency training and be engaged in resolution of system outages and disaster recover documentation, will ensure alignment with PFML and the LTSS division's strategic plan and agency mission.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with major coursework in data science, information technology, web development, or closely related field.

AND 

Four (4) years of IT experience with the following:

  • System administration.
  • PowerShell scripting.
  • Using server and network diagnostic tools to ensure the health of the systems and servers.
  • Creating and modifying Active Directory groups for application and network access.
  • As an application architect and developer.
AND
  • Two (2) years of experience testing -- unit testing, requirements testing, user testing, load testing, functional, performance/load testing, and/or regression testing. (Please note this can be obtained concurrently with the experience above.
  • Advanced knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), and Agile development methodology.

OR a combination of IT education and/or relevant IT experience equating to 8 years.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with documentation of complex system design activities and configurations in accordance with industrial and/or agency policy and procedural standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with the configuration and management of Microsoft Dynamics (CRM & AX) architectural components and administration.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences. Professional and courteous in all interactions, great interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Azure Dev Ops.
  • Certification in ITIL.Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with major coursework in data science, information technology, web development, or closely related field.

Insurance Benefits

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
 
State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).  New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs.  For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems' web site.
 
Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP).  This is a supplemental retirement savings program (similar to an IRA) that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
 
Vacation (Annual Leave)
 
You begin accruing vacation starting your first month of employment. Since we value your loyalty, the amount of vacation you can accrue increases the longer you work with us. Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year. Vacation accrues for full-time employees per WAC 357-31-165.
