Restart Requirements

We know that this is a challenging time for everyone and that libraries are in various stages of reopening plans, whether it's creating a plan, providing curbside service, or opening up to limited public access and services.
A question for many of you is when will IA Shares delivery start again. There is an answer for that question!
State Library staff have been working with our partners at StatCourier and MOBIUS to determine a restart date for IA Shares delivery. Based upon information we've received so far from libraries, Monday, June 8, 2020 has been set to restart IA Shares delivery.
While this date is fairly firm, we do reserve the right to change the date if we don't have the minimum 330 libraries to be able to accept deliveries on their designated day (whether or not you're open to the public) to ensure delivery runs efficiently. To meet this date, here's what we need you to do:
  1. Fill out the Iowa Public Library Re-Opening Form (if you haven't already) by the end of the day on Thursday, May 28, 2020. (The form will remain open after that date.)
  2. Encourage other libraries on your route who haven't indicated their status to do so by making a quick phone call or email. The links below will be useful.
Additionally, we will be working with libraries from May 26 - 28 to make phone calls to those libraries that haven't responded.
