SMS and Voice Calls for Account Authentication
All USPTO customers will need to a switch to a more secure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method for their USPTO.gov accounts when accessing our systems on Thursday, May 1. Text messages (SMS) and voice calls will no longer be offered. If you currently use SMS or voice calls to verify your account, you must switch to email verification or to another MFA method by Wednesday, April 30. See the multifactor authentication options webpage for more information. You must download, install, and configure your chosen method on your device.
Bulk Data Storage System (BDSS) Retirement
The USPTO is planning to retire BDSS on Friday April 11, 2025. To access similar data, users may use the Bulk Data Directory feature in new Open Data Portal (ODP).
