Waiver Reimagine engagement opportunities in October
DHS looks forward to receiving input about the Waiver Reimagine project from people with disabilities who access waivers and their families, as well as counties, tribal nations, providers and advocates. We are hosting a series of online events between August and November 2020. For information about past events, see the Waiver Reimagine past events page.
On Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, 2020, we will host virtual events about what guides people’s decisions about self-directed services and ask for feedback on what can make these services more accessible and user friendly. These events will include a brief presentation and opportunities to provide feedback in small groups. Your input will inform our plans to reshape the waiver programs.
The deadline to register for the event is 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5, 2020.
Virtual event details
You have two options for attending the event. Both options will cover the same topics.
Audience: We encourage people who currently use consumer directed community supports (CDCS) through a disability waiver and people who are interested in using CDCS to attend. We also invite family members, case managers and service providers. Others are welcome to register, but event space is limited. We will allocate space to allow for a variety of perspectives and experiences.

Additional information
DHS will host two additional virtual engagement events on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, 2020. These events will be about individual budgets. We will send more information in a DHS Disability Services Division eList announcement and post details on the Waiver Reimagine feedback event page.
DHS will conduct training in October 2020 for lead agencies and service providers on operational changes (e.g., authorization, billing, enrollment, licensing) related to simplifying the service menu.
