Motor Vehicle Use Rules and Regulations          Off-road riding can be great fun.

Forest roads are only open to registered vehicles and mopeds in accordance with state law. All other vehicles including “motorized carts”, “low speed vehicles”, “multipurpose off-highway vehicles” and “all-terrain vehicles” are prohibited on Forest Service roads. Learn more here

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest provides the finest outdoor recreation opportunities and natural resources in Georgia. Featuring nearly 867,000 acres across 26 counties, thousands of miles of clear-running streams and rivers, approximately 850 miles of recreation trails, and dozens of campgrounds, picnic areas, and other recreation activity opportunities, these lands are rich in natural scenery, history and culture.

Several Recreation Sites Now Available Online at Recreation.gov or on the App

Visitors are now able to find several recreation sites online at Recreation.gov and through the Recreation.gov mobile app where they will be able to purchase passes, permits, and reserve campsites.

Road, trail, and area users must comply with the Motor Vehicle Use Map as well as all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Forest roads are only open to registered vehicles and mopeds in accordance with state law.
