Montana Sage Grouse Oversight Team

The Montana Sage Grouse Oversight Team (MSGOT) oversees implementation of Montana's Sage Grouse Conservation Strategy by the Sage Grouse Habitat Conservation Program (Program). MSGOT and the Program implement the Greater Sage Grouse Stewardship Act, along with Executive Orders 12-2015 and 21-2015. Individual MSGOT members also implement Montana's Sage Grouse Conservation Strategy through their respective agencies and programs.

MSGOT is administratively attached to the Governor’s Office for administrative purposes.

Mitigation

The Montana Sage Grouse Oversight Team approved the mitigation documents below on October 4, 2018. The administrative rules took effect January 12, 2019. The Habitat Conservation Program is now implementing the approved administrative rules and the mitigation system.

Administrative Rules

The Montana Sage Grouse Oversight Team adopted final administrative rules pertaining to Stewardship Fund grants, the habitat quantification tool, and mitigation. The final adoption notice was published in the Montana Administrative Register on January 11, 2019. The rules took effect on January 12, 2019.
