Reflecting Our Community 2020 Conference Begins November 9

There is a bridge in the background.Join the NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) and the Hudson River Foundation during the week of November 9-13 for their free virtual conference, Reflecting Our Community. The conference focuses on fostering better community engagement, highlighting the efforts of community leaders and other partners that are striving for more inclusive and equitable management of the Estuary and waterfronts. The conference week will include interactive sessions on fairer public access, community-led habitat restoration and water quality management, environmental justice, and advancing inclusiveness and diversity in the sciences and environmental professions. Environmental Justice Mapping Tools for New York Communities Webinar

This is a map of at-risk neighborhoods in a New York community.Join New York Sea Grant on Tuesday, November 17, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m., for a free webinar about  Sea Grant’s new Environmental Justice Mapping Tools guide. The new guide includes 22 online mapping tools covering a range of topics that help build context around race, class, and the environment. This webinar will include an introduction to environmental justice, how to use the EJ mapping tools guide, and demonstrations of select mapping tools. This webinar is open to all, including community members, educators, students, and environmental practitioners so that they may ask their own questions and inform their own analysis.
