The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is inviting the public to participate in an Environmental Justice Consultation under Executive Order 12898 (Federal Actions to Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low-Income Populations) for the rulemaking under section 6 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to address unreasonable risks presented by NMP.
The consultation, which will focus on the environmental justice impacts of the agency’s development of a proposed rule to address the unreasonable risks identified for this chemical, is part of EPA’s process to gain important feedback from stakeholders on the options for managing those risks.
Two identical sessions will occur on Wednesday, July 7th and Tuesday, July 13th. Both sessions will provide an overview of the TSCA risk management requirements, the findings from the final risk evaluation, the tools available to manage the unreasonable risks from NMP, and a discussion of environmental justice concerns.
If you would like to provide oral comments during the July 7th webinar, you must register by June 30th. If you would like to provide oral comments during the July 13th webinar, you must register by July 6th. Select “listen & make a comment” when registering. You may register as a listen-only attendee at any time up to the beginning of either meeting. For listen-only attendees, select “listen-only” when registering.
