NGA Appoints New Head of Government Relations

Tiffany Waddell Combines State, Federal and association advocacy

The National Governors Association (NGA) has named Tiffany Waddell as Director of Government Relations, to lead the organization’s federal advocacy team in Washington and to work with Governors’ public policy advocates from the 55 U.S. states and territories.

“Tiffany is the correct choice for NGA’s bipartisan approach to some of our nation’s greatest public policy challenges,” said NGA Executive Director Bill McBride. “She has strong executive experience leading legislative and advocacy campaigns at the federal and state level, as well as a proven track record of success in the association community.”

Waddell most recently served as Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s Senior Advisor & Director of Federal Relations, working to support the Governor’s advocacy efforts for nearly six years, including his recent term as Chair of the NGA where she proved success in working across the aisle to achieve bipartisan solutions. Immediately prior, Waddell managed government affairs for Delta Air Lines and worked for Brand USA, the public-private partnership in the travel industry.  She has also held leadership positions for a number of bipartisan organizations including: The Printing Industries of America, The National Fraternal Order of Police, and The American Hotel & Lodging Association.

“After experiencing, first hand, the important work being done by the NGA during the COVID-19 pandemic, and my work with the dedicated team at the only bipartisan organization representing all the nation’s Governors, I am ready to be a part of their mission to drive solutions on the Governors priorities,” said Waddell.

Waddell resides in MD with her husband and children. She holds a masters of professional studies in legislative affairs from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C.
