The Patient Activation Measure (PAM) measures people’s activation levels, including beliefs, confidence and self-assessed knowledge of health-related management. It has been widely adopted across the world to assess activation for many conditions.
This webinar assesses the appropriateness, relevance and usefulness of PAM in supporting personalised care for people diagnosed with cancer. Funded by Wessex Cancer Alliance, the PAM Evaluation includes a literature review, quantitative analyses of intervention and questionnaire studies and qualitative interviews with health care staff.

What is the project about?
The study is part of a larger project called EMBED-Care (Empowering Better End of life Dementia Care).
The purpose of the study is to develop a new palliative care approach for people with dementia which will include an assessment and resources to support decision-making.
Palliative care is for incurable conditions, including dementia, focusing on symptom management and a person’s quality of life.
