Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance - Primary Care Lead

 

The Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and driven Primary Care Lead to support the Personalised Care for Cancer Programme in Greater Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who is passionate about improving cancer services in Greater Manchester and can provide clinical leadership within the system.

The commitment will ideally be for 1 PA per week, although other levels of commitment will be considered. The role is until 31/3/22 in the first instance.

Patient Activation Measure (PAM) Online Workshop

Wednesday 30 June 2021, 2pm to 3pm

 

The Patient Activation Measure (PAM) measures people’s activation levels, including beliefs, confidence and self-assessed knowledge of health-related management. It has been widely adopted across the world to assess activation for many conditions.

This webinar assesses the appropriateness, relevance and usefulness of PAM in supporting personalised care for people diagnosed with cancer. Funded by Wessex Cancer Alliance, the PAM Evaluation includes a literature review, quantitative analyses of intervention and questionnaire studies and qualitative interviews with health care staff.

Your Thoughts on How to Improve and Support better End of Life Dementia Care

What is the project about?

The study is part of a larger project called EMBED-Care (Empowering Better End of life Dementia Care).

The purpose of the study is to develop a new palliative care approach for people with dementia which will include an assessment and resources to support decision-making.

Palliative care is for incurable conditions, including dementia, focusing on symptom management and a person’s quality of life.

They are looking for palliative care practitioners and people with lived experience to participate.
