2. Borrowbox

BorrowBox is free and has a large collection of resources for you to download including:

  • eBooks
  • eAudiobooks
  • eNewspapers
  • eMagazines

The BorrowBox app makes it easy to browse, borrow and read or listen to your library's collection anywhere and everywhere.

With BorrowBox you can:

  • borrow up to 5 eBooks and 4 eAudiobooks at a time, free of charge, each for up to 21 days
  • borrow up to 20 eNewspapers and eMagazines at a time, free of charge, each for up to 21 days
  • read or listen on many digital devices
  • reserve eBooks and eAudiobooks that are currently on loan to other customers
  • renew your loans (you can also renew a title once, even if another customer has reserved it)
  • return eBooks and eAudiobooks early or let them return automatically at the end of the loan period, there are no late return fees

BorrowBox mobile app

You can enjoy these eBooks and eAudiobooks on Apple and Android devices by using the BorrowBox mobile app. Install it at the Apple Store for iPhones and iPads or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

To download the app, open the app store on your device, search for BorrowBox and download.

Once you’ve installed the app, search for Stockport Libraries in the ‘Library’ field. Log in using your library membership card number and 4-digit PIN.

You can also sign up for the Royal National Institute of Blind People's (RNIB) free Talking Books by digital download service.
