About the Wisconsin Eviction Data Project

The Wisconsin Eviction Data Project is produced by the Interagency Council on Homelessness to track, on a monthly basis, the number of eviction filings and judgements for eviction in all 72 counties in the state to track the state's housing economy, the efficacy of homelessness prevention programs, and to inform the public on housing policy needs throughout Wisconsin.
This project follows the great work done by Eviction Lab (by Matthew Desmond and Princeton University) and the City of Milwaukee Evictions project (by the Medical College of Wisconsin Institute for Health Equity’s Division of Epidemiology in partnership with Legal Action of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee City Attorney’s Office, and the Milwaukee Department of Neighborhood Services).
The data for this project comes via an application programming interface developed by DOA's Division of Enterprise Technology to pull data from the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access REST service. This provides the county circuit court data from the Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP) for eviction filings and judgements, which is compiled and presented below by the ICH Director. CCAP provides no warranties as to the accuracy or timeliness of the information contained in the WCCA Data.
