Coriander Kitchen & Farm is a woman-owned restaurant and bar located inside a former marina situated in Detroit’s canal district, a hidden gem on the city’s far-east side. We have a low-key, casual vibe – we like to call it “drunk grandma” – that gives you the sense of a waterside hideaway right in the city.

Join us for lunch or dinner and dine al fresco along the canal or on our covered (heated and enclosed in the winter!) pergola and watch the boats, kayakers, waterfowl, otters and even a beaver float past on their way to the Detroit River. You might even spot a wild turkey and deer nearby. We are practically Disney princesses here with all of our animal friends.

For those of you who prefer to enjoy nature from behind glass, we have indoor dining with a colorful retro bar featuring roll-up garage doors that open up to let the canal breezes waft in.

We are also the city’s only restaurant that is both the farm AND the table. That’s because we have our own farm where Farmer Gwen Meyer grows much of the produce and herbs that Chef Alison Heeres uses to create delicious, approachable meals that are a Great Lakes twist on seaside classics.

Our menus are always changing with the season and the harvest, but you can expect fish and chips, burgers and grilled fish as well vegetable-forward dishes that you won’t forget. Trust us when we say you’ll never look at cabbage, cauliflower and other veg the same way after you eat Chef Ali’s menu.

We are good food. For everybody.
