COVID-19 vaccination clinics for King County employees

In November, King County is hosting five COVID-19 worksite vaccination clinics open to all employees and family members ages 12 and older. All three vaccine types – Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson – are expected to be available.

The clinics are intended to support employees who are in the process of completing their initial COVID-19 vaccination series to comply with the Executive’s vaccination mandate.

In addition, COVID-19 booster shots will be available to those who are eligible. Although not currently required, booster shots are recommended and encouraged for specific populations, including people who work in occupational or institutional settings that put them at high risk for COVID-19.

Walk-ins are welcome, but you can schedule a time for your preferred vaccine. Click here to learn more.

Members needed for the Access Paratransit Advisory Committee

“I started getting involved in transportation issues when I was home recovering from a broken wrist. This was before I became legally blind, and I was home nerding out on public access cable and doing my physical therapy. So I started attending meetings, thinking about all my transportation problems and listening to other people’s problems.”

This is how Dorene Cornwell’s story began as a member of the Access Paratransit Advisory Committee (APAC), a King County resident who recognized an opportunity to provide feedback on an issue she was experiencing personally. “Now I listen and hope I hit the right balance about being a good voice for riders and making space for riders with different experiences,” she says.

If you or someone you know uses Access Paratransit, or who would just be interested in advising on equal access to public transportation for people with disabilities, click here to find out more about the program and to apply for the 2022 committee.
