The City of Minneapolis is reconstructing 4th Street between 2nd Avenue North and 4th Avenue South from building face to building face. Use this interactive map to view weekly utility and construction updates, traffic detour, local access, and the newly improved 4th Street.
4th Street improvements include:
Three eastbound travel lanes between 2nd Avenue North and 2nd Avenue South
Two eastbound travel lanes between 2nd Avenue South and 4th Avenue South.
New trees and planters throughout the corridor
Wider sidewalks and improved crosswalks including curb extensions at all intersections
A new two-way bike trail separated from traffic on the north side of the street
New traffic signals, lighting, and crosswalk timers throughout the corridor
