NY/NJ Harbor & Estuary Conference Nov. 15 - 18: Register NowThe New York-New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) is holding its annual conference online from November 15 – November 18. The theme of the conference is Waterway Stories: Water Quality, Access, and Community. The conference is bringing together members of the community, non-profits, academia, and local, state, and federal government to talk about water quality and how it affects our lives and our community. How should we encourage equitable and safe waterfront access? How do we best communicate about risk? How does the climate crisis move these conversations? The conference takes place virtually throughout the week with expert presentations, interactive discussions, and diverse stories about our waterways. The conference is free. Register now. Funding Available for Water Infrastructure Upgrades$400 million is available for critical drinking water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades through the Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA) and the Intermunicipal Water Infrastructure Grant Program (IMG). The grants provide funding for water infrastructure projects that increase community resilience to flooding and are critical to protecting public health and the environment. Information and application documents are available on the Environmental Facilities Corporation's website. If you have questions, e-mail NYSWaterGrants@efc.ny.gov or call 518-402-6924. |
