Annual Biobased Economy Conference Is Fast Approaching

This year’s Biobased Economy Conference hosted by the Alternative Fuels & Chemicals Coalition will be held November 14-16, with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) leadership and subject matter experts sharing information on current and upcoming DOE initiatives and funding.

Acting Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Kelly Speakes-Backman, will provide virtual introductory remarks on November 15 for the Sustainable Feedstocks, Biofuels, Food and Feed Products Driving Decarbonization track. Michael Berube, deputy assistant secretary for sustainable transportation, will also be speaking on November 15 as part of a moderated plenary titled, “Climate Smart Practices: Global Solutions to Decarbonizing our Planet." 

Senior Lead Analyst for the Bioenergy Technologies Office, Zia Haq, will be leading the sustainable aviation fuel interagency working group meeting on November 16.
