Women In Science Winter Speaker Series Begins January 5, 2022Join DEC's Hudson River Estuary Program for a virtual Women in Science Winter Speaker Series, six free webinars which take place January - March 2022. Meet and learn from scientists, community leaders, and environmental educators who work at the intersection of research, education, and environmental justice. Topics covered during the six sessions include water quality research, dam removal, field-based learning, and overcoming barriers and challenges in the field of science and education. Funding Available For New York Water Resources ResearchDEC and the New York State Water Resources Institute (WRI) invite New York-based university and college researchers to submit pre-proposals for applied research, outreach, and policy analysis in support of WRI’s statewide water resource research and outreach agenda, and the state’s watershed action agenda goals. The primary objective of this funding opportunity is to provide research and assessment support to watershed-based management, policy, outreach, and education. Information about this opportunity is available on the WRI website (PDF). Proposals must be submitted by researchers affiliated with a university or college based in New York and be qualified to conduct research through their institution's grant application process.
