Access Resources from Ethanol Opportunities and Soil Carbon Storage Workshops

Events

The U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) recently hosted two virtual workshops. You can access the event resources, including the agenda, speaker information, and more on the event pages:

  • Gen-1 Ethanol Opportunities: Improving Lifecycle GHG Benefits of Existing Biofuel Production discussed the current and developing technologies aimed at reducing the carbon intensity of corn ethanol production facilities.

You can access the workshop agenda and the speakers' presentations on the Gen-1 Ethanol Opportunities page.

  • Bioenergy’s Role in Soil Carbon Storage discussed soil carbon storage with a focus on its role in bioenergy. The workshop also included discussions around methods for building healthy soils, decarbonizing agriculture and forestry, and assessing full life cycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with generating biomass for bioenergy.

You can access the workshop agenda and speakers' presentations on the Bioenergy’s Role in Soil Carbon Storage page.

BETO supports research, development, and demonstration to enable the sustainable use of domestic biomass and waste resources for the production of biofuels and bioproducts. Learn more at energy.gov/eere/bioenergy.
