Belmont Avenue

Motorists using South Belmont Avenue between Banta and Southport roads will shift between a new section of pavement as early as tomorrow morning. The new access road will realign just south of the Light House Landing apartments and connect with Southport Road west of the pervious access points, which will be closed off.

Access to local businesses will be provided off the new section of Belmont Avenue by way of a small temporary driveway on the northwest side of the Between the Bun and Anytime Fitness parking lot.

Once the new Belmont Avenue segment is open, the entrance and exit of Southern Dunes apartments at Wellingshire Boulevard will shift slightly to the west to allow for reconstruction of the entrance. Both Wellingshire and Belmont will have temporary Stop signs at Southport Road. In its final configuration this well be a signalized intersection.

Bluffdale Drive.

I-69 Finish Line Crews expect to open the Bluffdale Drive extension west of State Road 37 to connect Bluffdale Drive to Fairview Road as early as Monday.

Once open, Smith Valley Road west of S.R. 37 will close to begin building the new and improved I-69 ramps and interchange systems. Click here to see a side-by-side map of the changing traffic patterns on Smith Valley Road and Bluffdale Drive.

Motorists traveling northbound on Old S.R. 37 and eastbound on Smith Valley Road will use the new extension to gain access to S.R. 37 at the Fairview Road intersection. Westbound traffic will follow Old S.R. 37 to Huggin Hollow to the south.

Access to the Center Grove baseball diamonds will change as Knights Drive will only be accessible by the new Bluffdale Drive.

Motorists will note the temporary crushed stone road at the Old S.R. 37, Smith Valley Road, and Bluffdale Drive roundabout has been replaced with a new layer of asphalt pavement.

About I-69 Finish Line
I-69 Finish Line is the sixth and final section of the Interstate 69 connection between Evansville and Indianapolis. The project will upgrade the existing S.R. 37 to interstate standards between Martinsville and Indianapolis.

Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Connections program fully funded the project and accelerated construction by three years. I-69 Finish Line is expected to open to traffic in late 2024, improving safety and reducing travel time.
