Areas of gusty southwest to west winds for the mountains and deserts for this afternoon and evening with the stronger gusts around 35 to 45 mph, locally near 55 mph in the northern Coachella Valley below the San Gorgonio Pass.

Around 4 to 8 degrees cooler than Tuesday for the deserts to a few to around 5 degrees warmer for the Inland Empire. Highs in the mid to upper 60s near the coast to the 70s and lower 80s for the valleys, in the upper 60s to mid 70s for the Apple and Lucerne Valleys, in the mid 80s to around 90 for the lower deserts, and in the upper 50s to upper 60s for the mountains for elevations from 4500 to 7000 feet.

Locally gusty north winds in the Inland Empire below the Cajon Pass with gusts to 40 mph and in the Coachella Valley north of Interstate 10 with gusts to 35 to 45 mph.
