Towed Stolen Vehicle Reimbursement Form

If you paid out-of-pocket fees to recover your stolen vehicle from a tow company in Orleans Parish since August 1, 2017, you may be eligible for reimbursement from the City of New Orleans.

Please complete the Recovered Vehicles Reimbursement Form and submit required documentation to be considered for reimbursement. If you have any questions, contact towingreimbursements@nola.gov.

Reimbursements will be mailed to eligible applicants via check. Please allow up to 90 days for your reimbursement application to be processed.

Vehicle information

The VIN can often be found on the lower-left corner of the dashboard, in front of the steering wheel. You can read the number by looking through the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Incident information

Your stolen vehicle is considered "recovered" when it is found by the New Orleans Police Department and towed.
Please enter the location where your vehicle was found after being stolen. Note this is separate from the location of the tow company where you may have paid to retrieve the vehicle.
Please enter the name of the tow company where you paid out-of-pocket fees to retrieve your vehicle. Name of tow company should match proof of payment.
If available, please enter the New Orleans Police Department item number associated with the instance of your vehicle being stolen. This information is not required, but may assist in processing your claim.

Expense information

Please enter the recovery costs you are requesting to be reimbursed. Reimbursable costs should match amounts reflected in proof of payment.
Fees Paid Out-of-Pocket (required)

Reimbursable fees do not include those covered by an auto insurance company. Please indicate whether the amount requested for reimbursement was paid for by an auto insurance company. Note that requesting reimbursement for costs paid by an insurance company may constitute an act of fraud, and as such could be subject to legal repercussions.

a) Receipt
b) Bank statement
c) Copy of check
