Boyd’s Station, a nonprofit arts and journalism residency program, offers artists and student journalists a rural and serene environment to create and pursue their individual craft while providing a safe, inclusive, supportive space with the community of Harrison County, Kentucky for and with people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures to discuss, share, learn about and expand on the areas of literacy, communication and journalism through the visual arts and writing.

 
 
 

THINGS WE DO

 

PROJECT 306.36

Boyd’s Station PROJECT 306.36 is a photo-documentary project creating a writing and visual time capsule telling the story of the people and places inside nearly three hundred square miles of Harrison County, Kentucky. Annually, Boyd’s Station awards grants and fellowships to student photographers and writers to be part of this program documenting this unique community.

BOYD’S STATION ARTIST GUILD

The BOYD’S STATION ARTIST GUILD, just one of the many amazing parts of the nonprofit Boyd’s Station, is composed of artists and art enthusiasts who together support artists, encourage young creatives, and promote the arts and culture of our region.

WITHERS RURAL WRITING FELLOWSHIP

The MARY WHITHERS RURAL WRITING FELLOWSHIP is awarded each year to a college journalist with a talent for reporting and writing and provides a unique, immersive journalism program living and reporting from rural Harrison County, Kentucky.

THE BOYD’S STATION GALLERY

The BOYD’S STATION GALLERY is an arts, education exhibition and community space located at 203 E. Pike Street in historic downtown Cynthiana, Kentucky. The gallery’s mission is to inspire creativity while supporting and promoting Cynthiana and Harrison County and community partners with a shared goal of fostering a culture of community engagement and prosperity.

PROJECT SECOND LOOK

Boyd’s Station is currently cataloging and archiving nearly 2,500 vintage 4-inch x 5-inch black and white negatives photographed by reporters and photographers from the Cynthiana Democrat between 1957 and 1961 in Harrison County, Kentucky.

PLACE & SPACE creative residences at Boyd’s Station provide artist studio space and ZERO-COST housing in the village of Boyd, Kentucky and The Boyd’s Station Gallery in Cynthiana, KY benefiting emerging artists who seek to create careers in the arts.

PAINT THE TOWN | MURAL CAMP
