On Wednesday, January 26, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm will host a virtual roundtable, “Accelerating Cold Climate Heat Pump Technology and Adoption in the Midwest,” a conversation with state representatives, manufacturers, and utilities about shifting the market to more-efficient, clean cold climate heat pumps for consumers, to help reach the Biden Administration’s goal of a net-zero carbon economy by 2050.

Secretary Granholm will also announce new utility and state partner commitments to DOE’s Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of cold climate heating solutions by improving the efficiency and affordability of new heat pumps.
