Youth Investment Fund

The aim of the Youth Investment Fund (YIF) is to create, expand and improve local youth facilities and their services, in order to drive positive outcomes for young people, including improved health and wellbeing, and skills for work, employability and life.

The fund is now open for expressions of interest in Phase 2: local authorities, charities, CICs and Community Benefit Societies which provide youth services can apply for grants of between £300,000 and £8.7million for building projects to provide new or renewed facilities that will deliver additional positive activities for young people aged 11-18

Applicants must be based in a left-behind area of England as defined by youth need and low provision. The eligible areas in Devon are:

Barnstaple with Westacott
Ilfracombe East
Teignbridge Buckland & Milber
Teignmouth West
Torridge Bideford East
Bideford West
Holsworthy
West Devon Dartmoor

Groups should be undertaking work with children and young people, where the majority are aged 11 to 19 years. Where young people have a special educational need, are leaving care, or are considered ‘at risk’ or vulnerable, funding may be granted up to the age of 25 years.

Grants can be used on the cost for building, renovating or refurbishing youth facilities as well as the associated costs (project management, professional costs, legal fees).

All grant awards must be spent by 31 March 2025.
