LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency Training Registration October 27th 1-3pm
Thank you for registering for our Virtual LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency Training. The goal of this workshop to increase the understanding and support for an underserved, and often discriminated against, population. This
workshop will review key terminology to increase the knowledge concerning LGBTQ
populations, as well as cover strategies for those who wish to become allies both in the workforce and their personal life. The training will include a section going over case scenarios and other concerns when working with homeless/risk-at-being homeless LGBTQ+ youth, adults, and families.

The  LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency workshop is presented by a representative of the LGBTQ Center OC and has been trained to present on the issues affecting the LGBTQ populations.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify at least 6 key terms relating to LGBTQ populations.
2. List at least 2 strategies on how to be better allies.
3. Name at least 3 components that make a space a safe zone for LGTBQ populations.
4. Name at least 2 local resources for the LGBTQ population in Orange County.

The training will take place October 27th from 1-3pm with two scheduled breaks and the last 10-15 minutes will be open for Q&A. You are welcome to leave questions prior to the training for us to address during the Q&A.
