Project Title:
Elkhorn City Aging Main Replacement

Project Description:
There is an existing 4-inch water line along West Main Street in Elkhorn City that has tuberculated to the point that it has the capacity of a 2-inch line. This project will construct approximately 1,050 linear feet of new 8-inch line from an existing 8-inch line to an existing 6-inch line in order to properly grid the system and restore hydraulic capacity

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The project will construct a new 8-inch water line to supplement an existing line that currently has the effective capacity of a 2-inch line. The existing line does not have the capacity to fill the Stillhouse Tank. If this section of 4 inch waterline is not replaced and were to break, 350 of the 600 existing water customers will be out of service for an extended period of time

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
