Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must have a bachelor’s degree* AND
• Be a teacher in a public, non-public or charter school in New York State teaching students in grades 6 through 9, with at least 5 years of experience; OR
• Be a work-based learning (WBL) coordinator in grades 6 through 9, with at least 5 years of experience; OR
• Be a school counselor working with grades 6 through 9 with at least 5 years of experience in a school setting

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

The Project Coordinators (Summer Teacher Ambassador Program) will take part in a four-week Career Development Ambassador Program over the summer from July 10 through August 4, working with Employment Services Staff from the New York State Department of Labor (DOL). The purpose is to obtain workforce development knowledge that can be brought back to the school and used to assist students in exploring potential career pathways.

Selected candidates will:
• Do a deep dive into their regional labor markets and learn about what resources and employment opportunities exist
• Have the opportunity to engage with local business leaders to gain an understanding of business and community needs while learning about hiring trends, upskilling, job retention and industry forecasting
• Be provided time to engage in lesson planning to document learning and take back new critical knowledge to their school district. Training will conclude with debriefing sessions and a lesson demonstration

Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
