Expanding good cause for voluntarily quitting employment

Description

The Employment Security Department is engaging in rulemaking to incorporate into the Department’s rules the changes made by House Bill 1106 (2023). House Bill 1106 expanded the good cause reasons for voluntarily quitting employment set forth in RCW 50.20.050 and updates the employer rate charging requirements set forth in RCW 50.29.021.

Phase 1: The Department updated the definition of family member and various family members and incorporated the parts of House Bill 1106 that were effective in September 2023.
