Title: Using Data to Advance Health Equity

Description: CMS strives to identify health disparities and remedy systemic barriers to equity so that every one of the people we serve has a fair and just opportunity to attain their optimal health regardless of race, ethnic, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, geography, preferred language, or other factors that affect access to care and health outcomes. The session will share some of ways CMS is using data, measures, and analytics to advance health equity, expand coverage, and improve health outcomes.

Format: 60-Minute Panel Discussion

Learning Objective #1: Discuss how CMS is expanding the collection, reporting, and analysis of standardized data to support health equity.

Learning Objective #2: Discuss how CMS is assessing causes of disparities within CMS programs and addressing inequities in policies and operations to close gaps.

Learning Objective #3: Discuss how CMS is using data to identify and promote promising approaches to reduce disparities and partnering with states to pursue quality improvement opportunities.
